Barbara Maroney indeed, Chris. Add to that Kelly Bishop for her Crown solos over the past couple years (not quite up to Barbara's standards as far as sheer beauty, but she's nails on every solo I've heard her play, regardless of style). Of course, I've got to give Haley a nod . . . I mean, c'mon tongue.gif

She is the greatest. I love the high C (high D on current mellos).

Barbara Maloney ftw.

J.D. Shaw, Phantom Regiment 1991. As Al Perkins put it, it's almost as if he were playing right into the leadpipe, it's that piercing.

Impressive in difficulty, or impressive in tone quality and musicianship?

If it were in regards to tone quality and musicianship, I'll give the point to Kelly (enter last name), Crown's mellophone soloist in 07.
