What are some traditions that your band takes part in?

For example, the girls in my band's colorguard straighten the guys' hair.

What about you guys?

When I was in high school, every year on the morning of the state Bandmasters Festival (we didn't do competitions, so Festival was our big performance of the year), we would march in the local Sunland Parade (Sunland = government-run housing for the mentally retarded) around 8:00am, then break for lunch/prep, meet in the band room around 11:00, listen to Europe's "Final Countdown" and break for the buses to head to Panama City around an hour south of us.

After it was all over, we would congregate around the school buses in the parking lot, the directors would talk, then they'd select someone from the band who'd shown outstanding leader/membership during the season who would scream "Whatta we gotta have!?" to which the band responded in kind, "Pride!"

The Tubaline at my school would sing a song while the band was changing out of their uniforms at the end of the game.

"Put your hands up high,
Put your pants down low,
This is how we Gigolo,
Gig-o-loo, gig-gig-O-Looo"

Needless to say the parents hated the tubaline...
